The Literary Correspondences of the Tonsons is the first selected edition of the correspondences of a major publishing house in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. As such, it presents for the first time the practices of the house that published Addison, Behn, Congreve, Dryden, Pope, Prior, Steele, and Vanbrugh, and contains letters by all of these writers and many more.
