Rae Romero, a professional phtographer and her partner Jan Metcaff, a recognized artist, shared many summers together in Corolla, on the Outer Banks where they hoped to retire. A year earlier Jan died unexpectedly from a short illness.Literally by accident Rae meets Michaela Knight, the beautiful sheriff, as she returns to the island.Soon passionate romance blossoms, however, Michaela feels at times she was in the shadow of a ghost.Meanwhile, Sheriff Michaela is called to the scene of four dead wild horses and some stolen. Hot on the case, danger soon frightens Rae.Sheriff Michaela must track her woman while tracking the horse thieves.
