Summary

"The Harriet Laura Herring Clipping Collection consists of material accumulated by Herring for her research on industrial conditions and labor relations in the South. Composed primarily of newspaper and magazine articles, the collection spans the years 1923 through 1948. However the bulk of the material is concentrated during the early years of the Depression, 1929-1934....Most of the clippings are from North Carolina newspapers ...The Herring clippings were discarded after microfilming was completed because of their advanced state of deterioration."
