An eight-year-old boy disappears from a class field trip in New Bern, North Carolina, and his body is found a few days later. Then a seven-year-old disappears from Beaufort, South Carolina, and journalist Abby Weaver notices the striking resemblance between the two boys. When she realizes that both boys could be carbon copies of her son Chris, she begins searching frantically for the missing boy before Chris can become the next victim.
